Nobak Djokovic ready to fight as Andy Murray targets number one spot at Paris Masters

Summary

Djokovic has finished four of the past five years as the world number one and will hold on to the top ranking if he reaches the final in Paris. However, since Djokovic has completed the career Grand Slam and decreased his motivation, Murray has closed the gap dramatically in terms of points over the past four months and now trails by just 415, with 1,000 on offer to the winner in Paris, but Djokovic has won for the past three years on the indoor courts of Bercy. Murray said that I’ve never won there before, so to just expect that you’re going to win the tournament would be silly.

Opinion

I believe that it is very challenging for Kei Nishikori as a Japanese tennis star to defeat the new number one player in order to won a Grand Slam and become the world number one player. As Djokovic said, Murray is playing maybe the best tennis he’s ever played, very constant, very strong. His playstyle is very defensive. He always runs very hard and catches balls. On the other hand, Kei’s playstyle is very aggressive. He offences with errors risk. Since Murray is good at defensive tennis, it is difficult for Kei to defeat Murray with his risky play. However, I hope that Kei will win Grand Slams and become the world number one player as a Japanese tennis fun.

Why 1 million workers are getting paid sick leave

Summary

In recent years, public awareness about the importance of paid sick leave has grown sharply. The Department of Labor finalized a regulation to implement the President’s Executive Order that will help an estimated 1.15 million working people meet the demands of their jobs while also taking care of their responsibilities at home. Accessing to paid sick leave is not only a moral imperative but also importance for public health, especially the prevention of infectious diseases. Moreover, Paid sick leave is also good business because it decreases people who quit their jobs, leading to reduced turnover costs.

Opinion

I don’t agree the President Obama’s Executive Order because this order breaks the rule of law. President Obama has called on Congress to enact a national paid sick leave policy, but they have yet to act. Under this situation, he’s not waiting on Congress to make progress and implementing this order. I believe that the administration follow laws which are made by Congress. If the administration act without the bases of laws, it may govern the people arbitrarily. No matter how his policy is great, the President as the leader of the government must obey the rule of law. In conclusion, I disagree the order which is contrary to the rule of law.

Bangladesh to ban Islamic TV channel, Peace TV

Summary

Bangladesh government has said it intends to ban the Islamic television channel, Peace TV, in the wake of the deadly attack on a café in the capital, Dhaka. The government decision comes amid fears that hardline views on the channel could radicalize youth. On the other hand, Peace TV founder Mr. Naik deny an allegation that one of the gunman in the café attack was inspired by his speeches, accusing Bangladeshi media of sensationalism. Also, he want to be said that Bangladeshi government people don’t believe the allegation that I inspired this Bangladeshi terrorists to kill innocent people.

Opinion

I disagree the Bangladeshi government’s intention. Bangladeshi has many Muslims. If the government bans the TV channel, that is equal to banning the freedom of speech in Bangladeshi. It is very important for human beings to say one’s opinions freely. Historically, human beings had a lot of conflicts. However, I believe if the freedom of speech had been protected, we could have prevented some conflicts. Today, there are a lot of conflicts because of religions, races and etc. around the world. In order to reduce the conflicts, it is very difficult but helpful that we tries to create the world that everyone says one’s opinion feely regardless of one’s religions, races, classes, gender and countries.

Final Essay “I strongly believe that we must not abolish death penalty in Japan.”

I strongly believe that we must not abolish death penalty in Japan. If all people acted on moral assumption, there would be no cruel crime and no discussion on abolishment of death penalty. However, that is fairy tale, not fact. For example, in Japan, there are 933 murders in 2015. From 4 points of view, I believe it is essential for current Japanese society to maintain death penalty system.

First, I focus on morality. The abolishment of death penalty is equal to making a law which completely ensures imaginable cruel wrongdoers’ life. Is it justice that we can’t execute a mass murderer? I take it for granted that imaginable cruel wrongdoers are executed. We must not forget that death penalty is the practice of legal judgement. In addition, there is a following ethics in Japan historically. The person who killed somebody compensates the murder by death. In order not to lose the ethics, death penalty exists.

Second, I point out the emotion of victims and survivors. If your precious person was killed by a mass murderer, you would make sure to hope a revenge. However, we are banned self-help in the criminal law. Therefore, it is not permitted that we kill a mass murderer as a revenge but death penalty system plays a role as a legal revenge.  Also, these days, in the Japanese Supreme Court, the emotion of survivors are one of the most important standard whether it passes death sentence on defendant.

Third, I think in terms of the constitutionality. Death penalty system has constitutionality according to the precedents of the Japanese Supreme Court. The article 13 ensures all of the people shall be respected as individuals. Also, it ensures that their right shall be the supreme consideration to the extent that it does not interfere with the public welfare. Therefore, if the public welfare is interfered by wrongdoer, the right of life can be limited by death penalty. The article 31 is “No person shall be deprived of life or liberty, nor shall any other criminal penalty be imposed, except according to procedure established by law.” According to this article, punishments established by law like death penalty can deprive the right of life legally.

Fourth, I look at a poll. Last year, Cabinet Office announced more than 80% of Japanese accept death penalty system. I think Japanese government has no option except maintaining death penalty system because citizens’ consciousness is important for democracy, especially important problem like death penalty system.

In conclusion, I focus on 4 aspects of death penalty system. They are morality, the emotion of victims and survivors, constitutionality and poll. These 4 aspects prove that it is essential for current Japanese society to maintain death penalty system. Therefore, I strongly believe that we must not abolish death penalty in Japan.

Belgian authorities have charged three men with terrorism offences, including attempting to commit murder, following a huge overnight operation

Summary

Belgian media reported that militant Islamists may have been planning to attack the football fun zone in Brussels, where Belgium’s games in the Euro 2016 tournament in France are screened. The searches of the incident were conducted overnight in 16 municipalities, mainly around Brussels. As the result, the three man were arrested and charged because they attempted to commit murder through terrorism and participated in a terrorist group. Investigators have established connections between the Brussels and the IS attacks on Paris on 13 November. Several of the Paris bombers came from Belgium and some of the bombs were made in Brussels.

Opinion

I believe free trade and free transportation in Europe made by EU don’t only have good aspects but also have bad aspects. To be sure, they are very useful in terms of the development of industry in Europe to integrate of European economy and to remove borders but terrorists also move or escape easily all over the Europe without identification. Especially, since many European countries border on other countries, it is very dangerous to lose borders. In these days, many refugees escape from Syria or other Middle East countries to European countries and they don’t have the measure to identify their selves. I think some terrorists entry into European countries with a lot of refugees.

In conclusion, I strongly think that free-border countries in EU are involved in terrorism in contrast to many economical merits.

Colombia seizes record cocaine haul in Turbo

Summary

Police in Colombia say that they have seized a lot of illegal drugs; nearly eight tons of cocaine. The cocaine had been hidden on a banana plantation. Also, it belonged to a criminal gang. Nearly 1.5 tons of the drugs was ready to go out to the export. Colombian police estimate the gang has about 2000 active members. The Colombian government said it would lunch air raids against some gangs involved in drug trafficking and illegal mining.

Opinion

I used to believe that this seizure can help to decrease illegal drugs because the development of other industry reduce the business of illegal drugs.

However, Demon said that the strong demand of illegal drugs make the supply of illegal drugs. Demon’s plan is to permit illegal drugs under restricting rules. The rules are the government gives some companies a license which admit that the companies can sell the drugs legally.

His plan has a good point. The point is gangs and terrorists cannot make money by selling the drugs. Illegal drugs are the resource of the gangs and terrorists now. If illegal drugs become legal drugs, the resource disappear.

His plan also has a wrong point. People can get the drugs easily. The drugs are bad for their health. However, he points out that people change over time. For example, Smokers decrease gradually. Also, illegal drug addicts drop down someday.

When I heard his opinion, I was astonished at it because I could not think illegal drugs become legal ones. I can understand his reasonable opinion now. However, I believe the practice of his plan is very difficult. There is the problem of morals. Is it justice to get the drugs easily for the measure to disappear the resource of gangs and terrorists? It is too difficult to answer for me now. I realize that the problems of illegal drugs are very challenging.
