opinion

I watched this game and nisikori’s playing. He didn’t get good condition in the first set. This is within my expectations because I have watched recent his game. I think Nishikori’s catching up in the second set was wonderful, but he was completely overwhelmed by Cilici. I’m very disappointed at the result. To know the overseas reaction to this game, I searched reaction by using internet. Most of  the opinions are that there are a lot of misshot in Nishikori’s playing. One example of opinion, they said” he couldn’t  gets point in a important situation”. I saw many opinions and I felt they have dissatisfaction of Nishikori’ playing. However, it means they are many people who expect Nishikori. His playing has the ability to fascinate people. So many tennis fan want to see his win on the big stage.  I hope he win the title next competition.

I believe that coffee has more positive effects than negative effects. How often do you drink coffee? Coffee is a very familiar drink, and many people around the world drink coffee. So I was interested in the influence of drinking coffee. Some people say that drinking coffee is bad for health. Coffee contains caffeine. Because of this, it is said that if you drink too much coffee, you will be addicted to caffeine. However, for three reasons, I came to the conclusion that coffee is good for your health from various points of view.

First, coffee can make your risk of some diseases lower. I learned “last year, Medical News Today reported on a study suggesting that consuming three cups of coffee a day may reduce the risk of liver cancer by 50%, while another study suggests that drinking four cups a day could have the risk of mouth and throat cancer.” This fact shows coffee can protect us from some types of cancer. It’s remarkable, but it’s not only about cancer. According to an article, “participants who reported drinking more than 6 or 7 cups of coffee a day were 35% less likely to have type 2 diabetes, compared with those who reported drinking under 2 cups a day.” So these results may lead to the conclusion that drinking coffee can prevent some serious illnesses.

Second, coffee may help your life to be more efficient. Many people drink coffee in order not to sleep, and the fact that caffeine improves brain function is well known. Moreover, according to an article, “caffeine can increase adrenaline levels and release fatty acids from the fat tissues. It also leads to significant improvements in physical performance”. So coffee influences not only brain, but also whole body. In addition, I learned that “several studies show that caffeine can increase fat burning in the body and boost the metabolic rate”. For three reasons, coffee is good for you physical function.

Third, coffee may make your lives longer. I learned that “in a Harvard study published in 2011, women who drank 4 or more cups a day had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed”. I think this result shows coffee can relieve stress, and improve mental health. In relation to this, “study with 208,424 individuals found that those who drank 4 or more cups per day were 53% less likely to commit suicide”. Therefore, coffee make your lives longer, because your state of mind will be more stable.

I found that coffee is helpful in prevention against serious illnesses, in physical function, and in mental health. Because of these reasons, drinking coffee has a lot of merits in your health. It is true that there is an addiction to caffeine, but if you drink moderate amount of coffee, that doesn’t matter. So I believe coffee has more positive effects than negative effects.

France labor dispute: Paris protests descend into violence

Summary

Demonstrations against the reform bill began on 9 March and led to a massive demonstration on 31 March, when nearly 400,000 people came out in protest across France. At least 40 people injured, including 29 police officers, and 58 arrests. And at least 75,000 demonstrators had convened in the capital as the upper house of parliament debated changes to employment laws. Besides, Student and several unions organized protests across the country, part of weeks of industrial action. In a separate protest, Air France pilots, rail workers and taxi drivers went on strike to demand better working conditions. The problem is that the labor reform makes it easier for employers to hire and fire workers and it would also relax the limit on working hours. The government forced the changes through the National Assembly last month without a vote.

Opinion

When I first read this article in the class, I thought that it is only natural that labors oppose a labor reform bill because Although this bill is concerned with the living, the government forced the changes without a vote. However, now I think the government had no choice but to do that. After looking into this labor problem in France, I understood that the president Hollande think a rigid labor market cause high unemployment rate. And dismissing the regular employee is so difficult in France. As a result, the government have to carefully employ the regular employee. So unemployment rate doesn’t improved. In addition, Paris is the most short working hours city in the world. I didn’t know this. The workers in the Paris need work only about six hours per day. I was so surprised this.  I think maybe the France government had predicted that this labor reform bill will be opposed strongly, so they forced the changes without a vote.

In conclusion, I thought that jumping to the conclusion is dangerous and we need to read article carefully.

Ecuador’s death toll reaches 646 people

Summary

The death toll from Ecuador’s devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake last week has risen to 646 people.Tremors are expected to continue for several weeks. With close to 7000 buildings destroyed, more than 26,000 people were living in shelters. President Rafael Correa’s leftist government, facing mammoth rebuilding at a time of greatly reduced oil revenues for the OPEC country, has said it would temporarily increase some taxes, offer assets for sale and possibly issue bonds abroad to fund reconstruction.

Opinion

In my opinion, I think , as Mr. Correa’s said, it is necessary to temporarily increase some taxes to rebuild destroyed buildings because it is difficult to live without house. Comparing to Kumamoto’s earth quake in Japan, Ecuador’s  death toll is 11 times as large as Kumamoto’s. I was surprized at this difference. Maybe, there is a difference of constructing technique and getting rid of this difference is important. If it’s possibe, I want Japan to pass on knowledge about construction.  And Before reading this text, I dont know that Ecuador is a member of the OPEC country.  So I think what  can I do first for this disaster  is to know more about the Ecuador.
