Kuroda signals BOJ may delay reaching 2 percent inflation target to 2018

Summary
Bank of Japan Gov. Haruhiko Kuroda said that inflation target reached 2 present immediately in an interview with Bloomberg Television. However it isn’t likely to be reached during Kuroda’s term, which concludes in April 2018. In recent interview, he said “we will continue or strengthen our monetary easing in coming months and years to achieve 2 percent inflation”

Opinion
Countries such as the United Kingdom and Canada, New Zealand have inflation target from 1 to 3 percent. The past few years, the policy which escapes from the to the deflationary economy and aims to inflation is popular. In the inflation, most of people think to buy things as soon as possible before the price rises. As a result, the economy will be better because things sell well. Many companies also improve business performance and salaries of employees increases. The consumption becomes active more and more. In addition, by going down worth of savings, the gap between the rich and poor is reduced. Thus inflation is not only economic recovery but also eliminating the discrepancies. I hope that inflation policy of Japan is successful and the economy is better. Personally, I want to try to experience the era, such as the bubble period.

Nearly 150000 Central Americans expected to seek asylum this year

Summary

Asylum-seekers are fleeing El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras at a scale never before seen in the region, the United Nations refugee agency said. It released the figures Wednesday at the start of a two-day meeting in San Jose to discuss regional solutions to flood of Central Americans fleeing violence. U.N High Commissioner for refugees Filippo Grandi said “They will not stop tomorrow or next day.” It means that the number of refugees will be increasing in the future.

Opinion

When I examined for the refugees, I knew that there was the organization called Amnesty International. It is an international human rights NGO that gathered people to pray, “I want to help people who are suffering.” I thought it was a great organization. I hope to realize that Human rights of all people are protected and everyone is not suffering from human rights violations such as conflict and poverty, torture and discrimination. I also want to actively participate in, such as volunteers and donations for refugees.

Final essay

I believe that superstitions about the number. Seven is a lucky number or that things happens in sets of three. Pythagoras also believed that certain numbers and their multiples had mystical power. For centuries, people have given importance to numbers and developed superstitions about them. Many of these superstitions have been passed on through the generations and still exist today.
Many of the superstitions surrounding numbers have a basis in science and nature. For example, early astrologers believed that seven planets governed the universe and; therefore; the lives of human life was beings. A seventh child was thought to have special gifts. Human life was divided into seven ages. Every seventh year was believed to bring great change. For the ancient Babylonians, three was a lucky number because it symbolized birth, life, and death. Some people still believe that a dream repeated three times comes true.
On the other hand, I believe 13 is unlucky. The number seems to be almost universally considered unlucky. No other number has had such a bad reputation for so long. The ancient Romans regarded it as a symbol of death, destruction, and misfortune. One of the earliest written stories about the number 13 appears in Norwegian mythology. This story tells about a feast at Valhalla to which 12 gods were invited. Loki, the god of evil, came uninvited, raising the number to 13. In the struggle to throw out Loki, the favorite of the gods, was killed.
There are many superstitions regarding the number 13. For example, in Britain it’s considered a bad omen for 13 people to sit at a table. Some say that the person who rises first will misfortune, even death, within a year. Others say it’s the last person to rise. Some British people think it’s unlucky to have 13 people in a room, especially for the person closest to the door. The thirteenth day of month isn’t considered a good day on which to begin any new enterprise, including marriage, or to set out on a journey. Many people believe that Friday the thirteenth is the unluckiest day in the year. This belief is so widespread that there are horror movies called Friday the thirteen.
Some people will go to great lengths to avoid the number 13. Hotel owners do not usually assign the number 13 to a room, preferring to label it 12A or 14 instead. The French never issue the house address 13, while in Italy the number 13 is omitted from the national lottery. Airlines have no thirteenth row on their planes, and office and apartment building rarely have a thirteenth floor.
In conclusion, from ancient civilization to modern societies, the belief in the magic of numbers has persisted in spite of the advantages in science and technology. There is nothing quite as stubborn as superstitions. Even today, people still believe in bad luck and omens. I’m also one of them.

The UK’s EU referendum

Summary:The UK has an economic problem. It is that whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union. This problem is called “brexit”. The referendum is being held on Thursday, 23 June. There are supporters and opponents of this issue. The former insists that the economic benefits of the EU slumps and increasing a large amount of immigrant causes many disadvantages. On the other hands, the latter insists that if Britain leaves EU, they will lose privileges that can move freely within the region without a visa and shrink the trade scale.

Opinion: I didn’t know this news before I read this article. I think leaving EU is not good. This is because if Britain leaves in the EU, national power of the UK will be weak. In addition to it, that will cause reducing value of the pound and purchasing power of the UK. Finally, that will lead to EU economic downturn. Now,  Japan has more than1000 companies in the UK and they are positioned as the headquarters of the European market. If the EU economy is worsening, it will be considered to be worse Japan’s economy at the same time. So, I oppose leaving the EU.

Colombia seizes record cocaine haul in Turbo

Summary: Police in Colombia takes illegal drugs away from gangs-nearly eight tones of cocaine. The drugs had been hidden on a banana plantation near the north-western coastal town of Turbo. It is said that the greatest amount in our history. Police say the drugs belonged to Clan Usuga of a criminal gang. It is mainly engaged in drug trafficking but has also been accused of extortion, illegal mining, forced disappearances and murder. Besides Clan Usuga, Los Pelusos and Los Puntilleros are also gangs involved in drug trafficking and illegal mining. Earlier this month, the Colombian government said that it would launch air raids against these gangs.

Opinion: It goes without saying that such the criminal gang disappearing brings peace to us. However, it isn’t easy. Illegal activities such as smuggling, which has been done for many years are considered to have been accustomed over the years. I think that in order to disappear all of these criminal gangs, it is necessary that the government try to completely suppress them. So, seizing past the maximum amount of cocaine and declaring to launch air raids must have been one of opportunity to disappear them. I hope that there will be no crime in the world.
