The UK’s　EU referendum

Summary:The UK has an economic problem. It is that whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union. This problem is called “brexit”. The referendum is being held on Thursday, 23 June.There are supporters and opponents of this issue. The former insists that the economic benefits of the EU slumps and increasing a large amount of immigrant causes many disadvantages. On the other hands, the latter insists that if Britain leaves EU, they will lose privileges that can move freely within the region without a visa and shrink the trade scale.

Opinion: I didn’t know this news before I read this article. I think leaving EU is not good. This is because if Britain leaves in the EU, national power of the UK will be weak. In addition to it, that will cause reducing value of the pound and purchasing power of the UK. Finally, that will lead to EU economic downturn. Now, Japan has more than1000 companies in the UK and they are positioned as the headquarters of the European market. If the EU economy is worsening, it will be considered to be worse Japan’s economy at the same time. So, I oppose leaving the EU.

Sharapova took a mistake

Summary

Maria Sharapova, the Russian tennis player, was banned for two years from games because she tested positive for the illegal drug meldonium.

In spite of her status, Nike and Head plan on supporting her on the grounds that the decision was not based on extensive clinical testing.

After this news, it is said her income such as her own branded clothes are going to plump over the next 12 months.

According her state, she did not know meldonium was added to the banned list.
Opinion
She doesn’t have enough self-awareness as a pro tennis player.

Certainly she only has used meldonium as a remedy, but she received warnings from ITF. Despite the warnings, she said she did not know the fact. Ignorance is no excuse.

I think she should have tried to pay attention to the drug.

Therefore, in the point of her punishment, I don’t think it is too heavy for her because she neglected a confirmation of the illegally drug list .

She has to have consciousness as a top athlete.

Summary and my opinion about deforestation.

Summary
Norway has become the first country to stop clear-cutting of trees, which will be a great help to curbing global deforestation. Norwegian lawmakers also commited to find a way to source essential products such as palm oil, soy, and timber so that they leave little to no impact on their ecosystems. These production contributed to a little less than half of total tropical deforestation. Norway has shown its commitment to a cleaner environment in other ways. In 2008, the country gave Brazil $1 billion to help fight deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. It is also in the process of restricting the sales of gas-powered cars by 2025.

Opinion
I agree with Norway’s policy. Ｉthink this policy will bring about mainly two great results. One is about climate change. When forests are cleared and in flames, the carbon in the trees is released as carbon dioxide which is the main greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. So this policy will stop to increase carbon dioxide in the air. It means this policy will prevent global warming. And the other is about protecting ecosystems. There are many animals and plants in forests. If we destroy forests, they will lose places to live and die. For two main reasons, I think we should stop deforestation. Other contries should introduce such policy to protect the enviroment and ecosystems.

Nato troops begin huge military exercise in Poland

Summery

Recently, Russia increased its military capacity and annexed Crimia two years ago, so there’s been a heightened sense of alarm in eastern Europe. Finally, Nato countries took part in their biggest ever joint military exercises in Poland, and Nato troops closed to the frontiers between Poland and Russia. As a result, Russia fears the troops are a threat to its security.

Opinion

This story is very funny. Originally, Russia is to blame for this huge military exercise in Poland. Russia shouldn’t have annexed Crimia, but he did without any permission. Certainly, Putin Vladimir is a great politician. He is very strong and good at Judo. However, this annexion was too aggressive. It is natural that Nato countries should be concerned about a potential threat from Russia. Of course, Japan is involved in this international affairs because Japan and Russia have the Northan Territories issue. We have to solve the problem soon, or Hokkaido will be a Russian territory like Crimia.

London mayor plans negative body image advert ba n on Tube, buses and trains

Summary

Sadiq Khan, London mayor, has now asked Transfer for London (TfL) to stop broadcast a weight-loss advert (depicting a bikini-clad female and says “beach body ready?”, and advertising watchdog received lots of complaints in 2015). He advocates to ban adverts of negative body image because they put pressure on people to become thin to imitate such unrealistic images. However, TfL refuses the request and says that it has a duty to guarantee for sponsors to refrect their original copy. Regarding this matter, the Advertising Standard agency (ASA) watchdog ruled the advert gave neither offensive nor irresponsible impression.

Opinion

I agree with the mayor’s idea to ban adverts of negative body image, because many people watching the image of famous models tend to desire to be like them, and try unreasonable a diet. In fact, models who have too little BMI values can’t appear on mass media in Paris. I think this policy should be introduced to Japan because Japanese women are on diet although they are already too thin. It can be a deterrent for such a situation. But, some people say the policy can be an obstacle to freedom of expression. It is difficult to decide offensive expression, so we should be careful when we carry out the policy.

A referendum held in U.K.

A referendum will be held on June 23rd. This referendum asks citizen about whether U.K. will leave the EU or not. The beginning of things is discontent of U.K. about ” free movement ” policy of EU. The EU’s policy ” free movement” means People can move country to country in EU without passport and this is against to U.K. Policy that U.K. want to control their border themeselves.
The British prime minister David Cameron asserted the U.K. should not leave from EU.

Opinion

I think leaving EU is not good idea. It’s Because that the U.K. economy will become not to receive great benefit of joining EU. Some people argue that if U.K. would leave EU, U.K. can save money about 15.4 billion dollars and use for domestic economy. But economical loss by leaving EU may be more than economical gain by leaving EU.
In addition to it, some people believe they must pay money for a member of EU when someone is in economical difficulties like Greece. But it is not real and impossible, for according to the decision of EU, countries who don’t use Euro like U.K. don’t have to support using Euro country.
So, I conclude that there isn’t big problem about staying EU and U.K. should stay EU.

Norway becomes first country to ban deforestation because they want to stop the global warming. It is said that if we don’t stop raising the rate, the world’s rain forests could completely vanish in 100 years. In their pledge, they decided find a way to source essential products in order not to impact on their ecosystems. Norway has also shown their attitude toward this problem, and they are grappling these problems now.
In my opinion, I think other countries should restrict deforestation, but I think it is impossible to STOP it. The reason why I thought is that we sometimes need wood material so that we make paper, our houses, furniture and so on. These are necessaries of life no matter what. However we can restrict to use woods. It is said that the forest is decreasing on the earth and because of that, the global warming is proceeding. In addition, I thought that the biodiversity will be broken by deforestation. I feel that we should reconfirm about the benefit of the nature. I sometimes heard that we can’t find something is very important and necessary for us until we lose something. I think the nature is one of that. We should remind importance of the forest.

German Vice Chancellor compares AfD party to the Nazis

Summary

Germany is contending about immigrant from East Europe. German vice chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said to the party of the anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim Alternative for Germany (AfD) which is right party. The party is refusing to help the immigrant, but German government think that they receive the immigrant. Why did the government receive the immigrant? Because German lost in World War Ⅱ. However, 20% of popularity of German are immigrant, so German cannot bear it.

The German seek to refuse the immigrant. Therefore, popularity of AfD is soaring. I care that German’s decide and the political where to go.

Opinion

I think that they should not accept the immigrant because they use the money from our tax. Perhaps you may think me to be stingy person, but it is just opinion. If they don’t accept the immigrant and German use the money more than now. Germany can build new building, supply good welfare. They can live life that they are better for if they do not spend money for an immigrant. So my idea is near the right party.

However Germany has the serious historical context. Germany lost in World War Ⅱ, so Germany cannot disobey to victorious nation. As a result, they accept the immigrant. It will not be so far that Japan is criticized from victorious nation. However, Japan does not have the space, employ and residence where the immigrant enters.

US famous journalists killed in Afghanistan.

summary

US famous journalist David Gilkey and Zabihullah Tamanna killed in Afghanistan when they were travelling with an Afghan army. Mr Gilkey is the first US journalist outside the military and was devoted to helping the public see these wars and the people caught up in them. In other words, he let people see the world and each other through his eyes. From these career of him, he received a series of awards.

my opinion

Why many countries send journalist to battlefields? Perhaps some people think like this. But I think this occupation is very important for us. It is true that there are many demerits for not only journalist himself but also government of the country. For example, going to battlefields is very dangerous, and the country have to pay ransom if a journalist are taken as hostage. But I think there are more merit for us. We people in peace countries don’t know what war is like, this might lead us to cause tragedy again. We should know what is happening in battlefield, and only journalist enable us to. To sum up, journalists is a part of us , I mean they are important for us.
