Who is the real president in Commonwealth?

summarise

In a speech to lagislators, Jamaican Governor-General Patric Allen proposed a constitutional amendment ”to replace Her Majesty The Queen(Elizabeth Ⅱ, the Queen of United Kingdom) with a Non-Executive President as Head of State” in the Caribbean nation. She is officialy head of state in 15 nations called the Commonwealth including Australia and Canada, New Zealand, Jamaica. There is one irony because Allen and other Jamaican governor-Generals were appointed by the Queen. It suggests that Allen is effectively pushing to push himself out.

opinion
I learned the President system in Jamaica for the first time. Then I felt something is wrong with the system. Why Elizabeth Ⅱ is the president in Commonwealth even if she is non-executive there? In history, Certainly UK was strong and occupied many country but now most of them are independent. I think they can’t become completely independent till she is the president. This may be thought as deep-rooted problem, but I wish their relationship become better and perfectly independent.

final essay

I believe the power of music. When I listen music, I feel better. Music makes me feeling better. Even if I am sad or worry or nervous, it will always encourage me. We can often listen to music in our living for example TV program, background music, concert as so on. Background music is very important to create romantic atmosphere. And in any shops and restaurants there is music. Music is very important for our life. In other words, we can’t live without music.

I love music because I was helped by music many times. I like listening music, and I also like performing music. I belonged to brass band club in junior high school and high school, and now I belong to Keio wind ensemble. I play percussion instruments there. So I have practiced them for 7 years. To play the percussion instruments, we have to beat them and it is a lot of fun and it is also a way to relieve my stress. At first certainly it is too difficult for me, but the harder I practiced it, the more I came to like music. In that way, I came to love music despite originally I liked music. And it taught me the importance of daily practice…daily efforts. Thanks to that, now I can do effort to difficult problem bravely.

That is not all. Music gives good influence to listener as well as player. Many scholars say about the good influence and it is effective on even fetus, they say. I don’t know it is true but at least I believe music give us great effect. Around us there are a lot of music and we can listen them easier. But have you ever imagine our living without music? it is so hard and finally you will find desolate. We realize the importance of music for the first time after losing music in our living. Anyway, music around us give us more effect than we think. Then what kind of effect it has? Maybe the answer is ‘so many and various’. Music help us. Sometimes it encourages us, and other time nestles to our sadness or anger and makes our mind better. These are really wonderful and very difficult if we do them. Music only can achieve these. So our life has to have music and we can get helped by it.

Everybody cries sometimes. Then your friends may help you but may not. But your favorite music will always help and encourage you. This is the power of music and I want everyone to know excellence. Listening or playing, both are fine. Certainly it will help us, so I believe the power of music.

Brexit may bring many confusion

summarise
EHIC, the European Health Insurance Card, has been a familiar system for British people travelling on the continent. It provides British people a reliable medical treatment in their temporary stay in EEA countries plus Switzerland. However, EHIC would be difficult to exist if there’s a Brexit. Whether EHIC remains or not depends on whether UK keeps its bond with EEA. Gemma Sonfield says the UK’s issue on deciding Brexit is about immigration and bordercontrol, which EEA allows, so the UK may follow the Swiss model, that are neither in EU nor EEA but adopting EHIC.

opinion
A few days ago, UK decided to withdraw from EU. This decition will go down in history, certainly. I think this is historic and this event must have an influence on many countries. Not only it but also the problem in UK is so serious, you know. Now I have heard an insistence that Scotland should withdraw from the UK to be left in the EU. If this insistence is realized, it must create big confusion. I think the countries have to help each other if the other country is on the verge of a crisis for example the financial problem of Greek. The person must be same and equal completely and help each other(Damon also said this in class). These days, refugee’s problem is also getting intensified at Europe. Now all countries should unite and confront a problem.

Cluel treatment in rehabilitation shelter of Mexico

Summary

This is the article in Jalisco, western Mexico. According to authorities, the patients in the rehabilitation shelter treating alcohol and drug abuse were rescued from there. They had been living at an overcrowded shelter and they showed signs of abuse, for example the scar of beaten and burned with cigarettes. And more, most of the patients are minors. Authoroties said it is a subhuman and inappropriate treatment and are accusing the persons concerned the shelter. They said they are now in the process of ensuring all drug rehabilitation shelters in Jalisco treat their patients with dignity.

My opinion

Before anything else, I was surprised at the cruel treatment. Even if humans absorbed in drug, they must be human being. So they have the right to receive suitable treatment, I sure. Certainly, I also feel too many people are absorbed in drug, especially minors. In Japan I have never heard such a problem. So I suppose the economic condition is bad and the income gap is big in Mexico. I think these cause this affair indirectly. Of course, regulation against the facilities are important and effective, but for drastic solution, the government has to make an effort to improve the social condition, I am convinced.
