Final essay

I believe that it is a necessary process of being a mature democratic nation to conflict with communists. In our time, most economic giants (for example, America, Japan, U.K., Germany and so on) espouse mature democratic system by having overcome many difficulties of confrontation with communism. In the first place, why are they opposed? Because communists would overthrow government by starting a revolution and communism have risk of appearance of dictator. As you know, some dictators or dictatorship had tried to invade other country by using military power. In facts, communism has possibility of transforming into militarism, fascism or despotism in terms of history. So citizens of democratic countries had felt the threat of communist because they are opposite side.

First, In 1920, an incident called “The Sacco and Vanzetti trial” happened in America. This incident was that Sacco and Vanzetti arrested and punished by death penalty as criminals of murder and robbery. But they persisted their innocence. As a matter of fact, they were arrested without convinced evidence and branded because of their anarchism (anarchism is similar to communism) activity in their past. Later, administrative organ of America permitted that the judge is false accusation and Sacco and Vanzetti are innocent. It is possible to think as this tragedy was caused by citizen`s fear for growing stronger communism.

Second, Denmark is known as a country which has high quality and mature democratic. However, Denmark’s political system in 17century was different from today’s Denmark. In those days, Denmark’s political system was absolute monarchy by a King and farmers that they occupied 85% of nation couldn’t get suffrage. In1834, government gave suffrage to framers for the first time, democratic movement started and 15,000 people made a demonstration march in Copenhagen in 1848. At last, absolute monarchy came to end by citizens of peasant class’ power. Absolute monarchy is not equal to communism but nearly equal in terms of appearance of dictatorship.

Third, countries who had tough experiences to get democracy are not only European and US countries also Uruguay. A cruel activity called “Guerra Sucia” (it means “Darty War”) broke out in 1976-1983. It was done to save militarism government and about 30,000 people who did rebel movement were tortured and killed. As the government repeated a reckless action, nation of Uruguay had begun to have doubt. Later the militarism government declared war against the U.K. to capture Falkland Island to get support of nation. However, Uruguay defeated the war and militarism government collapsed. By overcoming many difficulties, a democratic government was created in Uruguay. Incidentally, this series of flow is very similar to prewar Japan.

In conclusion, today’s mature democratic countries had experienced various difficulties and many people scrabbled to get or save democracy. By experiencing the fear or frustration of communism or dictator, people rise in rebellion against authority or power. People all over the world will continue to pursue liberty and impartiality and to resist an unfair as long as democracy continues to success.
