Which is better soft or hard Brexit?

Summary

A group of major business lobby groups have written an open letter urging the government to preserve barrier free trade with Europe.

It says that would mean 20% in extra costs for the UK’s food and drink industry and 10% for car producers. These significant costs would affect British exporters and importers. It calls for the government to give certainty to business by immediately ruling this option out under any circumstances.

The letter ends by saying that UK voted to leave the EU but not to cause living standards to decline ;”We want a Brexit that safeguards future prosperity for everyone across the UK.”

Opinion

This article tells us some influences by hard Brexit. It is some problems between the UK and the EU but I think the most important problem is in the UK.

Northern Ireland has had an open border with the Republic of Ireland which is a member of the EU. That open border will become the border between the EU and a nonmember. If the government will do hard Brexit, it will have to be equipped with border posts to check goods and passports. It prevents the circulation.

Now some Scots want to declare independence from the UK because they want to remain the EU. If Scotland declare independence, hard Brexit will be not effective for the UK.

I think soft Brexit is better than hard Brexit because we should respect the result of the referendum.
