IOC approve switch of cycling venues for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

[summary]

after month of negotiation, the IOC on Wednesday approved cycling venues for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, including cost-cutting move of indoor tracks events to a facility in Izu.

The international cycling union had resisted the move to Izu because it would detract from the Olympic experience for athletes and fans. However, international cycling union eventually agreed to the change.

The IOC said that Izu venues will undergo significant renewal and seating capacity will be increase.

Some competition will be held in Tokyo, others one will be held in Izu.

As he solution of distance from Tokyo, athletes and staffs stay at a satellite village located close to venues.

[my opinion]

I think that moving venues is a good idea especially the side of economics.

Tokyo Olympic committee have a lot of problem. For example, copyright of symbol mark designed by Mr. Sano, and lack of cooperation between government and Tokyo prefecture, and lack of money to construct the National Stadium.

National Stadium’ construction plan become blank paper because of lack of budget.

Like this example, Tokyo Olympics committee should save money for Japenese economy. So, I think that reducing budget to be held Izu, where is far away from Tokyo.

I think there are a lot of way to solve the problem about distance like in this article.

I’m so sorry to submit lately because of my careless, I forgot to push the “publish” button last Sunday. I’m so sorry.

Gamba’s Patric considering Japanese citizenship

[Summary] Gamba Osaka’s Brazilian Patric is considering applying for
Japanese citizenship because he wants to play for Japan at the 2018 World
Cup finals in Russia. The 28-year-old Patric joined Gamba in July 2014 and
played a pivotal role in helping them win a domestic treble. If he stays in
Japan for two more years, he can apply for Japanese citizenship. In taking
Japanese citizenship, Patric would follow in the footsteps of such
Brazilian-born players as Marcus Tulio Tanaka, Alessandro Santos, Wagner
Lopes and Ruy Ramos. He was racially abused by an Urawa supporter on
Twitter in November.

[My opinion] Soccer is my favorite sport. Therefore this article interested
me very much. Some people are against allowing foreign player to join in
Japanese national team. I think there is some truth in what they say.
Japanese rugby national team has many foreign players. When I saw the team
in TV, I was surprised by a number of foreigners. Is it really “Japanese”
team? But this is common knowledge in the fields of sport. To strengthen
the team, we need help from foreign players. So far we have taken such a
way. For example, at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa Marcus Tulio Tanaka
played a pivotal role in helping Japanese national team. I’m for allowing
foreign player to join in Japanese national team. However I don’t know
Patric will be elected by manager of Japanese national team.

Tokyo Olympics’ economical effect

summary

Tokyo Olympics make Japan’s GDP lift around 1 percent. First, to hold Tokyo Olympics, we have to need many buildings, including studiums and an athletes’ village so construction company gets 10 trillion yen. Second, 33 million foreign tourists will come to Japan and spend a lot of money.  In conclusion, Tokyo Olympics make far greater influences in economics.

Opnion

I want Tokyo Olympic games to provide a good influences for Japan. According to this article, it makes large effects for economics but I think that the most importance is mental effect. Japanese people have no   identities and patriotisms. Japanese are not interested in Japan. I expect that Tokyo Olympics make Japanese people take pride in our country.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got Caf award

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got the Confederation of African Football’s player of the year award. In the vote, he got seven points more than Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure. Aubameyang is from Gabon, and now play soccer in the Bundesliga’s league. He thanked his family, team mates and the President of Gabon. The President returned a compliment, describing him as a great Gabonese. And the President thought that he would be a key person when they host the next Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.

To be honest, it is not until I read this artcle that I recognize Aubameyang, who is a star soccer player. For Gabonese children, he is a hero, and he gives dreams to a lot of people in Gabon. As he plays a more active play, Gabon will be famous, and will host the Africa Cup of Nations, I think. So far, in Africa, Cote d’Ivoire and Algeria is strong countries in soccer, but after a several years, Gabon would be stronger than now and turn out star players like Aubameyang.

IOC approves switch of cycling venues for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Summary

The IOC  approved the plan of cycling venues for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics including a series of venue changes for the games. The IOC said moving track cycling venues from Tokyo to Izu would save $1,8 billion in total. The international cycling union(UCI) had resisted the plan at first , saying  Izu is far from Tokyo and Olympic experience for athletes and fans are decreased.  But they eventually agreed to it. Olympic experience can be guaranteed from  awide range of perspective. UCI president said this plan had embraced the cost cutting “Olympic Agenda 2020” . Cost-cutting, athlete experience, maximum use of existing venues, and the future development of cycling can be achieved by this plan, he said.

Opinion

I agreed to this plan. “Cost-cutting” is very important aspect for 2020 Tokyo Olympics. We don’t have to be  too particular about the places where games are held.  Izu is not in Tokyo, and about 120km from Tokyo. But I don’t care whether the venues are exactly in Tokyo or not, and who care? The means of transportation have improved and we can easily come and go between those two places. Both convenience and cost-cutting can be achieved. If there are existing venues and post-games legacies, we should re-use those places. However good venue we construct for 2020 Olympic, it is unnecessary if the venues are not useful after Olympic. This plan is very future oriented, I think.

British committee proposed that all athletic records should be abolished because more and more athletes use illegal drug and ruin sprotmanship. This disappointing fact make fans all over the world distrust the confidence of sports. Athletes who takes drugs should be punished strictly. This is very difficult problems because there are true atletes who don’t use illegal drug and they make an effort to achieve their goal every day, while there are false athletes who want to get an honer using the dirty way. I think that it is impossible to abolish all world records. There are some reasons. First, many atheletes who have world records without using illegal drugs oppose this drastic idea. They will say that ruining efforts is wrong because of part of injustice. Second, there are many wonderful records that we won’t breakthe world records. We have to find best ansewer to solve this miserable problem. Both abolishing all athletic world records are not good and paying no attention to using illegal drugs ane not good. It may take long time to restore confidence of sports, but we should try to maken an effort to solve this problem. In fact, punising severely athletes who don’t have sportmanship is a good idea. For example, depriving them of the right of participating in competition for ten years is a good idea.

IOC approves switch of cycling venues for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

1. Summary
The other day, the IOC approved the cycling venues for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This places is in Izu, located two hours from Tokyo. Moving cycling venues from Tokyo to Izu would save $100 million in construction costs.
There are, however, some problems. The international cycling union said it is inconvenient for audiences to participate in the event, because it takes about 120 km from Tokyo to go to Izu. In addition, the Izu stadium will need reconstructing and seating capacity will be increased.
At present, All of Tokyo’s venues have been decided, excep for soccer. Those venues will be decided after next year’s games in Rio de Janeirn.

2. Opinion
In my opinion, it is a difficult problem whether we should give a priority to cost or convenience. Recently, Japanese government disputed about the construction costs of new national stadium. Eventually, she decided she would decrease the construction costs, because she met with strong opposition from the public. In order to hold Tokyo Olympics 2020, cost is an important issue.
However, we should consider convenience. To gather more audiences, the venues are important. For example, if the venues were located a few hours from host city, the audiences would have a difficulty going to watch events. To solve this problem, I think, Japanese government should improve transportation.

Right and wrong of sport’s risk

Is sport more dangerous than ever?

【summary】

It is said that sport is dangerous, for example , Cricket was shocked by the death of Australian batsman Philip Hughes last year after he was struck behind the ear by a ball. There are some sports which is dangerous.Rugby union, rugby league and football. So is sport getting more dangerous?

Rugby union is one of sport which have many injury and particularly concussion. It is surprised that 13 % of 600 rugby players in England experienced concussion last season. It is the serious problem. But the risks are still there because of how the game is played. The more progress the skill, the more dangerous.Dr.Mike Loosemore says that people like trying out new and ever more dangerous activities although they are not always trained or equipped for them, beause of adrenalone rush.

Removing the risk is dangerous in itself.Because sport is a way of putting danger into lives in a controlled way, but it is the good point too.

【Comment】

I agree the opinion that sport is dangerous , but it is stimulating and good things.I have experienced big injury two times(fracture of back and shock of head) when I was high school student. It was happen in the P.E class, I worked hard on the game. The harder the game, the more excitement my mind. I think it is the real pleasure of sport so that it will be a dull game if I slipshod.

But there are other nice point of sports, too. For example, elderly people can’t play so hard as young people because it is dangerous for them. But they enjoy their own sport . Their sport leads to the preservation of health and communication with friends.I think there are not sport which gets adrenalin rush in big game but also other pleasure. Everyone are different, but everyone are good. And we must not except too much for professional player doing limit play. Maybe It will be a danger that injury brought their career as a player to an end.

Athletics doping crisis

Summary
Russian athletics federation was criticized for having some involvement in widespread doping. Also for this reason, they are not probable to be able to participate in Rio Olympics. An International Association of Athletics Federations inspection committee will investigate Russia.
And they are likely to report back to the IAAF at the earliest, late March. It’s remain almost four months by the Olympics.
According to the president of European Athletics, Russia have to get away all of the player who have used performance enhancing drugs and change their culture.

Opinion
I like to play sport especially run short distance. In sport-festival season, I practice running almost every morning and lunch break to be faster though I was in basketball club. I tried so hard that I felt a sense of achievement and delight when I got the first prize in the sport-festival.
So I can’t understand the mentality of those who compete by drugs. Also, I was really shocked doping is wide spreading problem. Truly, there might be aspects that for athletes, producing good results have some connection to money. However, I thought players are proud their job. I really hope in Tokyo Olympic, we can watch matches which will be fair and square.

IOC approves switch of cycling venues for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Summary

IOC (International Olympics Comittee) approved the plan that indoor track events of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 moved from Tokyo to Izu for cost-cutting. The UCI (International Cycling Union) had first resisited the plan because it was thought that farness from Tokyo would decrease the Olympics experience. However, according to IOC, the experience will be guaranteed, as athletes can choose to stay in the main Athlete village in Tokyo or a satellite village in Izu. The IOC and local authorities have worked to develop sports including cycling locally and Tokyo organizing comittee CEO said that the move was the optimal choise for the future development of sports in Japan.

Opinion

This issue is one of very controvercial problems in Japan recently. Which aspect is more important, cost or better Olympics experience? As to the National Stadium, it was proved that Japanese people put more importance on cost and the construction plan has been started with a clean slate. The move of indoor cycling can also be evidence that Japan and the IOC stressed the importance of cost-cutting. In my opinion, cost is very important aspect for the future. I have heard that a past host country had suffered from financial difficulties after holding Olympics. It is not always true that the Olympics bring financial wealth to host countries. For avoiding future difficulties, we host counstry must be careful about cost. Moreover, the move will have good effect to Izu and other local areas as well as the host city, Tokyo. Therefore I support the plan.
