“Is sport more dangerous than ever?”
Fatal accidents during sporting activities have occurred frequently in recent months. So the question was come up.
Rugby union is one sport whose players are often injured. Risks for the players are caused by how the game is played.
There is a trend towards trying out new and more dangerous activities. Too protective society leads this trend.
And adding protective equipment may also increase danger because the equipment can be weapons.
In sports, there are always risks of accidents and unconscious heart condition.
On the other hand, sport is attractive because there is some danger involved. And Dr Loosemore says that removing the risk is dangerous in itself.
I agree with Dr Loosemore’s opinion. Any Sports have danger. We may want to play or encourage sports because of their some danger. So I also think sports without dangers are less attractive.
And it is difficult to stop the trend towards trying out more dangerous activities. I think it is their choice.
However, I don’t want to say that we should do nothing to prevent players from injuries during sporting activities.
I think major sports which have professional players or popular sports should not be too dangerous because major sports influence many people. So each association of sports should investigate causes of accidents during the games.
Then,rules which cause injuries should be revised if the revise of them do not make the sports less attractive.
I think it is good to revise dangerous rules without sports’ attractions.

Law on organ donation in Wales changed. Under the new system, Welsh people who are over 18 will become potential donors automatically. People who don’t want to donate their organs have to remove themselves from the register. People who do nothing also become organ donors. The change of will apply to adults who have lived in the country for more than a year.
According to the latest figure, 1,000 people in the UK die every year while waiting for a transplant. Organ donation rates in the UK are 40 per cent lower compared to other countries that already use this kind of system. It is predicted that the new law could increase the number of organ donors.

In Japan, there are few donors compared to other countries. The number of organ donors remains small although law on organ transplant was changed a few years ago. So many people who needs a transplant can’t receive an organ donation. Now, many European countries use the system that all adults without their refusal will automatically become donors. I think this system is good to increase the number of organ donors because many people can donate their organs easily. I think some Japanese people hesitate to donate because there are few Japanese people who donate their organs after their deaths. If Japan would use the system, many people would donate and many lives could be saved. In addition to these good points, people who don’t want to donate their organs can refuse under the system. So I agree to the system.

China’s exchange rate nears equilibrium because the country’s currency, yuan was devalued by the country.
The devaluation of the yuan make global market shocked and China’s reserves were extremely down because of this devaluation.
These two things have raised anxiety about sustainability of China’s efforts to support the yuan.
On the one hand the country’s deputy central bank governor said that the devaluation was not a big change, but on the other hand, the government had shelved plans for further adjustments because it was shocked by the international reaction to its currency’s drop.

China is the largest country in the world and its market has a great influence over the world market.
The Chinese economy has been growing remarkably for decades. These days, I sometimes hear news about Chinese economy. Most of them are bad news or articles which describe anxiety about the economy. If the economy stops growing, the world’s economy will be damaged seriously.
It may be difficult to understand What China want because the country is governed by the Communist Party.
But the other countries had better suggest good plans or cooperate with China for the economy.
I think China must make efforts to protect its market not only for own country but also for the world.

In the speech, a new idea was suggested. The idea is to create products that are made of simple tissues instead of real animals. It makes us to be able to use leathers and eat meats without killing animals.
Then is the idea good? I think it is good for our future.
However, I think the idea has also bad points. First, people who raise animals may lose their jobs because of this biofabrication. Second, this new way of making leathers or meats seems to cost a lot of money. I think this biofabrication is high technology and it calls for a lot of money to make animal products in this way. So it seems to be difficult to make many animal products enough for our demands.
Nevertheless, I still agree with the idea.
Now, it is said that there are more than 7 billion people in the world.
The world’s population is expected to reach more than 9 billion by 2050. An increasing population leads to short of foods. More people may become to suffer from hunger. So we will not be able to live without raising more animals and killing them. Raising many animals mean environmental destruction. If we choose the new way of making animal products, environmental destruction can be prevented.
Moreover, we can solve the bad points which I mentioned before like this: On the one hand, we can make animal products in a usual way that is to kill animals and on the other hand, we can make animal products in a new way.
In this way, people who raise animals will not lose their jobs and we will be provided for enough foods.
I think it is difficult to change our traditional method of eating completely, but we can adopt new technology like our ancestors.
As already mentioned, I think biofabrication is great technology and will make our future better. So I think we should adopt the idea to make leathers and meats by biofabrication.

The other day, we discussed FIFA’s corruptions.
Swiss banks reported possible money laundering for the 2018 and 2022. FIFA World Cups.The FBI was also looking into alleged breaches by officials relating to bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups separately from the Swiss investigation. The 2018 and 2022 World Cups were awarded Russia and Qatar respectively. However, a senior FIFA official has suggested the possibility of the cancellations of the awards. FIFA is facing claims of widespread corruption and seven of its top executives were arrested last month. Until now, many things have not been reveled about the Swiss investigation than the inquiry being led by the FBI. It is said that the invention was so huge and complex that it would take a long time.

I think FIFA needs to be reformed. Now, the FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest events in the world.Large economic effects are expected in the countries where the World Cup will be held. It is said that FIFA’s corruptions are “deep-rooted”. The World Cup is an events which excites many people, especially soccer fans.Corruption relating to the World Cup will make not only soccer fans but also ordinary people sad. There is a possible that people cannot enjoy watching the games obediently because of the corruption. FIFA needs to be reformed so that everyone are able to enjoy the games. I think FIFA cannot resolve the problems without its reforms.

The other day, We discussed a problem about immigrants in South African.

In South Africa, the unemployment rate is 24% and many unemployed South Africans blame foreigners for taking their jobs. In April, at least seven people died because of anti-foreigner violence. People targeted workers from other countries. Although the authorities condemned the violence, they have not stopped complaining about the foreigners working illegally.
More than 3,900 people, including 1,650 illegal immigrants had been arrested since April’s violence.
After the the deported, many Mozambiques who have been deported live in tents in a transit centre near the capital Maputo.

In Japan, there are few immigrants compared to the other countries, such as U.S. or some European countries.
Therefore, problems about immigrants are not familiar to us. However, there is a possible that Japan will accept many immigrants in the future. So we should think about the problems. There are good points and bad points to accept immigrants. In a positive effect, immigrants may solve a problem of labor shotage in Japan. In a negative effect, they may cause a clash of different cultures. Too many immigrants may harm Japan and too few immigrants may mean nothing. So I think we need proper rules when Japan accept immigrants.

We discussed an article of Senkaku problem. Japan and Taiwan have signed a deal allowing Taiwan to fish near Senkaku islands. China and Taiwan both claim sovereignty of the islands. The islands has rich maritime resources.

Then China anger at the deal. Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary said that the islands were inherently Japanese territory and the deal had no relation to the territorial dispute. Many analysts believe that Japan tried to prevent Taiwan and China from claiming sovereignty the islands together by the deal.

In my opinion, Japan should admit an existence of the problem about Senkaku islands so as to resolve it. Although the islands are controlled by Japan and Japanese territory, China and Taiwan have tried to interfere with Japanese sovereignty of them. So it seems to be difficult for Japan to keep Senkaku islands controlled by Japan without troubles. Now, China is big country and has effects on many countries. So it is bad for Japan to be in a bad relationship with China from various points of view. I admit that there is a possibility that China will not allow the sovereignty of them. Nevertheless, I think admitting an existence of the territorial problem is better than denying it for the solution. That kind of decision will become the first step toward the solution.
