Why Madonna Continues Her Performance

Madonna played another performance at de la repubulique after her Paris concert. She sang her own songs and other artist’s songs, such as John Lennon’s “Imagine.”After the terrorism in Paris, She decided to continue her “Rebel Heart Tour.” She explained the reason in the performance in Stockholm, Sweden. She said that she feels sad to dance and have fun when many people are crying over the loss of their loved ones. However, the terrorist organiation wants to shut them up, so she decided to continue the tour and expressed the intention of the resistance.

I think Madonna’s action is right. If she was frightened by the terrorism and gived up to continue the tour, she will end up just what the terrorist organization wanted. To get rid of terrorism, it is no use only by accepting their demand. We need to express the intention that “We never lose.” I believe this brave action will lead people to think they will never yield to the terrorism.

REM sleep is good for memory development

Our topic was about the mechanism of sleep. We repeat rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and non-REM sleep many times when we sleep. 15 percent of the duration of sleep in REM sleep. A research team mainly from the University of Tsukuba and the Riken national research institute revealed the roles of REM-sleep. They discovered that in REM-sleep, delta waves which is generated  in non-REM sleep is strengthened. Delta waves are known to assist the formation of memory and the recovery of brain functions. This means that REM-sleep is very important for our memory development.

I think that both REM-sleep and non-REM sleep is important because we need REM sleep to form our memory and we need non-REM sleep to generate delta-waves in our brain. I need to take more time to sleep to take more REM sleep. I wonder and want to research about why we forget most of our dreams we saw. I think delta waves also participates in this problem.

President Obama thinks that Trump cannot be president

There is an American president election in November 2016. The most influential candidate in the Republican Party is Donald Trump. However the present president Barack Obama, the top to the Democratic Party, which is fighting each other, criticize him. The reason is that Trump is a slightly radical right wing. For example, He has an anti-immigrant sentiment and he promised to build a big wall on the U.S.-Mexico border in order to prevent immigrants from coming into U.S. Also, Donald Trump is criticized because he often makes a discriminatory remark to women. For these reasons, president Obama thinks that Donald Trump will not be elected president.

I agree with Obama’s opinion. If the current Republican Party recapture political power and Trump become the president, he will build the wall to shut out immigrants from Central or South America. He will be criticized intensely by not only Democrats in America but also all over the world. I think Trump is too intense to become a president.

Central American migrants are kidnapped by Mexican gangs

In the last class we learned that migrants from Central America countries are attacked by armed gangs in Mexico. Migrants are moving from Central America to the US to find jobs. The gangs are armed and stop the migrant’s bus. They demand them a ransom and if they could not pay, they kidnap and recruit them as members of the gang. Despite this situation, the police of Mexico have not arrested any member of the gang. This is because the migrants are fighting with gangs to be free and the police cannot exactly distinguish which are the gangs. Actually, several times the police arrested from 37 to 100 innocent migrants by mistake.

I think this is a big problem in Mexico. If this state continues, the Mexican gangs will be bigger and bigger. It should be solved immediately. My opinion is that the Mexican government should assist migrants to use the sea route by preparing ships or protecting them from pirates. Also the US government should prepare to accept foreign workers by strengthening Spanish education, for example. I think this problem is solved only after each country of American continent cooperate with each other.

Eight Fans of a Football Team were shot dead

I read an article about a troublesome case in Brazil. It was a case that three fans of an football club attacked  eight fans of another club. Eight people had died in the incident. This case was not a simple fight by the rival feelings between fans but a case that is connected with drug trafficking. Some fans of football clubs are involved in drug trafficking, and they charge falsely to other team’s fans. Violence in Brazilisn football like this case is a growing problem now. Gangs who trade drugs use fan’s allegiances to the club to organise criminal activity outside the stadiums. I think this is a disappointing problem that must be solved. I think that people in South America, including Brazil, are passionate and love sports. In addition, sports tend to have a strong connection between the club and fans. Therefore, gangs often use this connection and just an opportuity lead to a case like this time.  To get  rid of such a case, I think that the government of Brazil should work on a drug destruction all over the country and cut off the source of funds of the Brazilian gangs. This will lead to maintaining the overall peace of Brazil as well as this case.
