A new design of Tokyo Olympic stadium was produced by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. According to this design, the government have to pay 149 billion yen to build. The new design is cheaper than the design by Ms. Haddis, which will cost 149 billion yen. The new design reflects Japanese temple styles and fits better with its environment. The construction have to be quicker because the deadline January 2020 is approaching.
【Opinion】
I think the first design is cooler than any other designs, but the cost is too expensive and absurd. Compared with other stadiums, I wonder the plan to build the new stadium really need such high cost. Although the new plan is cheaper than the first one,I do not think it is worth paying 149 billion yen. Allianz Arena, which is a stadium used for football team, FC.Bayern has very unique feature. But it only cost 510 billion yen. The other example is Bird’s Nest where Beijing Olympic was held. It cost only 500 billion yen. Needless to say, it is very unique. The new design of Tokyo Olympic stadium is not unique for me and also expensive. I want JOC to review the plan.
According to a study, Alzheimer can be detected by using virtual reality test. Those performed wrong actions in the virtual maze test are thought to have genetic risks in their brain. This test can find their alterations in spatial navigation, which will potentially become the risk of Alzheimer. In addition, these kind of brain changes will be helpful to researchers to find the reason why some people are easy to be Alzheimer.

It seems interesting to me that such a troublesome disease like Alzheimer can be detected by using virtual maze. It is like a kind of game. Once I played a video game of Nintendo which train my brain. There were a lot of interesting contents which force me to use my brain quickly. This article gave me a dream ;In the future, there will be a new gaming software not only training our brain but also prevent us from getting Alzheimer. I will sure to purchase it.
A new planet which is similar to earth was found. The planet was named GJ 1132. Its size and mass are nearly same as these of earth and it seems to have an atmosphere. The distance from the earth is 39 light-years; it is relatively close to earth in terms of astronomical measure. The planet also has an Earth-like force of gravity. A person standing on the surface of GJ 1132b would weigh only about 20 percent more than they do on Earth. The planet seems to have sister planet and research team is going to find it.
【Opinion】
This article gives us a big dream. If we plan to live in other planets, we are most likely to live on mars. But this discovery means that we gained a new option to live in another planet. The temperature of the planet is very high and we have little possibility to live in GJ 1132b, but astronomer will be able to catch a lot of knowledge and theories while they research it. The way they found the ‘twin’ of Venus is sure to be helpful to find a ‘twin’ of earth. The earth-like planet will be also discovered in near future.
Chinese ambassador has said that the UK needs Chinese investment. Chinese president Xi says that if UK is open to China it will be beneficial to both of country. UK and China are going to build a nuclear power plant in UK. This project is important for UK to make a good relationship with China. Chinese ambassador have a strong will to do this co-operation.
【Opinion】
In terms of making partnership with China, this project is necessary. However in terms of safety, it is not good. It should be careful to sustain nuclear power plant. To prevent accident like Chernobly and Fukushima, high technology is needed. In this project, the ‘high technology’ is left to Chinese companies. I am skeptical about Chinese companies because there was big explosion in port of Tianjing. It is dangerous to rely on china to ensure safety.
In order to use biotechnology in the leather making and food producing field, we should overcome lots of issues before introducing it. The idea of using technology to produce animal origin products is excellent, but it cannot be introduced soon. We have to prevent predictable issues if the technology is to be used as usual.
The first problem is economic problem. If the technology is introduced, we do not have to rely on the industry of leather and farmers. Therefore, employees working in leather making factories and farmers are sure to lose their jobs. Anyway, before they lose their jobs, they will protest against inviting biotechnology into their job fields. We must not approve biotechnology easily without thinking about their future. Before introducing it, the government or some institutes should prepare a second career for them. Especially, we have to consider carefully about countries where stock raising is widely done, such as Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. If the biotechnological “farms” get rid of native farms in such countries, waves of recession will soon be spread around the world. We should find the way to provide them with new options or to integrate with their industry.
The second problem is ethical problem. It is easy for us to accept leather made by bio fabric technology. However I do not think people will soon be accustomed to the artificial meat. I felt it is disgusting, even I know that artificial meat is scientifically made to be the same as natural meat. Artificial meat have a lot of merits, so people will understand eating it but probably it will take some time for people to get used to it and to break stereotypes at artificial meat. Even if artificial meat becomes popular, there will be some people whose body and soul simply refuse it.
The best way, I think, is to sustain both artificial “farm” and original farm. If so, the victims of conquest by biotechnology will not emerge. Coexistence of traditional methods and biotechnological methods will make environment comparatively good and give people options to select artificial one or natural one. There will be criticism against those who chose natural one because the choice increases killings of animals and worsens environment. However, everyone has his own freedom to make the decision. Discrimination must not occur from choice of artificial one or natural one. Individual choice should be protected.
Memories of shooting accident in South Californian church were remembered from victim’s stories. The racist gunman slaughtered nine people in the church and then tried to kill himself after the massacre. According to a story of one of the victims, the gunman at first only intended to target the church’s famous minister. However other people tried to stop him so he started firing his gun at random. Times have passed since the accident, and the church has held its service again. Hundreds of congregants were led by a visiting minister because the former pastor was killed in the accident.
【Comment】
The gunman was 21 years old boy and he had explicit discriminatory feelings against black people. This shooting accident shows that racial discrimination is not completely solved and it is still existing even in the young generation. The gunman was perhaps given wrong information from the Internet or his parents, I guess. If he was given proper education, he would not have done such a cruel thing. The environment and education around him was sure to be bad. I thought it is important to provide a good environment for young people and to tell them to decide what information is right and wrong.
Miners are reluctant to obey the government rule that at least 26% of company shares should be under black ownership. According to the government, only about 20% of miners filled the rule. However the leader of mining industry protected companies in meeting the rule mentioning that the industry has already completed the required ownership.
【Opinion】
This is an article focused on the economic problem in South Africa, but I think this is also about racial problems. Though mining is the biggest sector of industries in South Africa, there is the background that blacks is under the control of whites. White people kept power in South Africa for many years and most black people didn’t have chances to use their rights. Even if Apartheid disappeared, the hidden discrimination still remains, I guess. So the problems in this article may be caused by the hidden racial background.
