Russia’s doping problem

Summary

European Athletics president Svein Arne Hansen says that Russia will not take part in next year’s Rio Olympics. Russia’s athletic s federation was not allowed by IAAF( International Association of Athletics Federation) because Russia has a doping problem. An IAAF researchers will visit to Russia in January and the result will go back to IAAF Council in Cardiff on 27 March. Svein says in the Athletics Weekly magazine that Russia has to change their culture, takes away people who use drugs and takes in people who understand that such a situation is not good. IAAF will decide to suspend Russia on 13 November.

Opinion

I think that doping should be regulated strictly because the records have to protected. The records are that athletes make thorough their lives. Since they were children, they practiced hardly to mark world record. The record is very important for athletes so they must not do doping. It is not equality. Though some athletes do doping before race so sports organization should think about measures. The way I think is that athletes are examined twice before race and after race. This way will be able to prevent to marking wrong record.

The scientists have come up with easy version test to judge you are prosopagnosia.

Summary

Prosopagnosia is a disease of brain. The people who have this disease cannot recognize the faces of others even their family or friends so they have to remember others except their faces,for example, their clothes, hair color, voice and so on. Some of patients may not notice that they have prosopagnosia because they think that “I only have a poor memory ” but this disease have nothing to do with their memory. In the social, there are many people who have problems with prosopagnosia. Then doctors in UK have come up with short test to judge you have a prosopagnosia. This new test is gives a score out of 50(each question is scored out of five).

Comment

When I heard the” prosopagnosia ” at this English class, I cannot understand this disease well so I researched about it after this class. Prosopagnosia is exactly that not to recognize others but to forget others faces at once so they con recognize others face a little but if the place is changed, they forget who you are. Prosopagnosia brings some problems to the patients. They often seem to be impolite because they do not remember a person met before and they have a handicap to work. I think people around patients should understand that they are not impolite but disease. Therefore the patients have to tell others that they have prosopagnosia, like Brad Pitt.

Would Bank lent money to help refugees

Now, there are many refugees from Syria in Lebanon and Jordan. The largest number are in Turkey, but these countries are the much smaller economies to accept them and World Bank said that there is a substantial financial burden being born. So they decided to lent the money to them to accept many refugees.

The problem of refugees are serious in the world now. It is not problem only Lebanon and Jordan. For example, many refugees are crossing the Mediterranean Sea to escape run away to Europe and during crossing, some of them died. In this case, I think the country which does not have enough economic power to accept refugees like these countries should not accept them. It is not good both of people of these countries and refugees because neither is treated enough. Then, developed countries like Japan, America and Europe should accept more instead of them and try to stop wars not to increase refugees any more.

We should change a system of food to Bio Fabrication

 

 

In this English class, I heard a speech about “Bio Fabrication”. I agree with this opinion to change a system of food production to

 

hear this speech. I disagree to continue the system we are doing now. Therefore, first, I will show the bad points of system we are doing now and after this, show the good points of “Bio Fabrication”.

The first bad point is “safety of food”. According to this speech, it is expected to increase world population in the future and it is expected the quantity of domestic animals increases with it. When it can happen, it will be difficult to manage many domestic animals. By the result, if infection of disease spread among them, not only we cannot get meats, eggs, and so on, but also are infected. In the other words, it is unstable and may not secure the safety when we depend on the domestic animals. The second bad point is protection of animals. In the long history of human, we have annihilated many kinds of animals for eating, making leather, and earning money. Now, some animals are in danger of extinction because of production of human. We have to protect them because the animals which have annihilated will not come back.
Now, I will talk about good point of bio fabrication. The best point of this which I think is safety. There is no worry about disease because foods are made by technology. They are not alive so there is no possibility of disease. On the other side, we do not have to kill animals and if we stop to grow domestic animals, we can use the lands and money for other way. There are many merits.
For the following reasons, I agree with changing the system to bio fabrication.
I hope that when I get an old, the system is changed.

China claims a territory of South China Sea

Summary
In the South China Sea, China will complete land reclamation projects soon. The other countries near with South China Sea are objecting this China’s action because the line of Exclusive Economic Zone which is decided by UNCLOS is originally 200 miles but China claims maybe about area of 4 times. In this area China makes islands on the reefs and use it as maritime search and rescue, disaster relief and research. There has been a spike in tensions between the US military and Chinese navy near Spratly.
The statement of China shows that China will complete its reclamation project soon as part of its South China Sea and buildings on the lands would begin on facilities that can fulfil the relevant functions.

I think territory problems are one of the most difficult problem between two countries. In this case, China claims the territory which is not recognized by UNCLOS and including other countries territory like Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia. These countries will claim that china’s claim is wrong, of course. China believes that its claim is true and the countries also believe it, so their claims are on the parallel lines. If it can get territory, the economical and military effect is very large so they do not compromise.
This is the reason why a territory problem is difficult. Japan also have this problems between Korea or Russia but they are not solved. I think both of countries believe that “we are true” so to solve is difficult.

Canada glaciers may shrink by 70% by 2100

The glaciers of western Canada may set to shrink by 70% by 2100. The loss of them will influence to many sectors, from agriculture, forestry and tourism to ecosystem and water quality. A professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, the investigation of Garry Clarke shows these things. First, the disappearance of glaciers accuse losses of the beauty mountain and the important services they provide: a buffer against hot, keeping headwater stream and cool. Second, according to the RCP(Representative Concentration Pathways), the lowest scenario, global average temperature over Canada are likely to rise by0.3 to 1.7 degrees and the highest scenario, the temperature will rise by 2.6 to 4.8 degrees. Third, Clarke said that “Glaciers respond to climate,not weather, and their shrinkage signal that climate change is real and its consequences are serious.”

The loss of glaciers give many bad effects to all over the world not only Canada. In Japan, if they are melt, the city near by sea like Tokyo 23 words, will be depressed under the sea because the glaciers become sea. And the island country like Tuvalu will be depressed all of it. The reason of melting glaciers is that the temperature is going to higher and higher because of smoking from cars, motorcycle and factories. The things we can do are to avoid using cars and factories. We should walk to the place which we want to go to without them as possible as we can do. If we do this we can stop melting the glaciers. The problem of the earth should be solved by all over the world not only Japan.

QR code aren’t dead in South Africa

This article shows about QR code  in South Africa. In this country, many people “1.10 million males and 1.04 million females ” are using it. It is useful to communicate with friends. According to World Wide Worx managing director,which is leaders in technology market in South Africa, ideally QR code will be keeping mainstream to communicate others but there is no certainties.

In the class, our group discussed about QR code is convinient or no. I think that QR code is very convinient because it is easy to get information without feeding data of site URL. It is trouble to feed site URL so QR code is convinient. But it includes a risk. The risk is that we can make QR code easily by using application of smart phine. So a bad person also be able to make it. Therefore we have the risk to be confused and damaged. For example, in a city, there are many QR code on the posters in train,walls of buildings  and so on. We can get information from it easily but in fact, someone changes the code to hurmful site’s. If we try to get information from it, we go to the bad site and we cannot notice that the codes are good or bad because all of them are very similar. For following reason, in my opinion, QR code should be abolished and South African engineers should invent other tools to communicate or other countries tell other good ways.
