A few years ago, Kumamon, popular bear character representing Kumamoto prefecture, made the “yuru-kyara” boom in Japan. Yuru-kyara means typically soft, plush mascots representing cities, government bodies or companies with a mix of cute and bizarre. Recently, Funassiyi, “pear fairy” unofficially representing Funabashi city, has shaken up Japanese Character world. In a packed room of reporters, Funassyi told that he respected Kumamon as a “senpai”. Funassyi has appeared on television many times and made the Funabashi city famous as a leading grower of pears. Funassyi goods have been sold in a store of Funabashi shopping center. He said the “economic effects” of its popularity have reached into the hundreds of millions of yen.
I think Yuru-kyara can make the features of local cities and prefectures known to many people and can make economic effects. In Japan, many local cities and prefectures have very few young people and little money, although urban cities have many young people and much money. Yuru-kyara advertises the good points of his city or prefecture. People who like the yuru-kyara go to the city or prefecture where the character lives and cheer it. Yuru-chara can help the local city or prefectures which don’t have much money.

Senate Democrats have been trying to restrict gun using since the Organ shooting. They think it’s necessary to prevent people who are not allowed to buy guns from purchasing them illegally. However, their efforts are thought difficult to bear fruit for Republican-controlled Senate.
In America, the opposition between Democrats and Republican has obstructed making strict gun control. Democrats has tried to make gun control stricter, on the other hand, Republican oppose such a policy.
Democrats say they are not going to forfeit American people’s right, but they only want to put an end to cruel shooting in America.
I think legislative system blocking gun control reforms is difficult to take away, but American people should remove it and put an end to cruel gun shooting. Some other countries don’t prohibit gun using. In such countries, however, more gun shootings haven’t happened than in America in these years, except in countries where wars are being done. I think the reason why many cruel shootings have happened in America is American’s social custom and politics. American people think guns protect their lives, but the fact is that guns kill their lives. Besides, some American politicians, especially Republicans, side the thought. To stop gun shooting, politicians have to lead to change the American’s idea to gun using, because politicians can change the law about gun using. Therefore, I think American legislative system blocking gun control reform have to change to stop gun shooting.

Andras Forgas proposes to make leather and meat by biofabrication without killing animals. Leather made by biofabrication is very creative. We can turn the leather for many thick, various pattern and qualities. Factories which make meat by biofabrication will be very clean and educational, because meat made by biofabrication isn’t accompanied by animal’s blood and anxiety of disease. I think biofabrication will be necessary to make leather and meat in the future.
I think leather and meat by biofabrication are better than ones by killing animals mainly in three points. Firstly, they are better in a point of protection of global environment. Now, large lands are being used to farm animals to make leather and meat. And many grains are being used for farming animals, despite many poor people are dying without food. If we don’t need land to farm animals, we can save the land for global environment and make food for poor people. Secondly, they are better in a point of moral. Today humans are killing too many animals for ecological system. We kill many animals, but much food made from them is being wasted in advanced countries. This is clearly egoism of humans. Thirdly, they are better in a point of hygienic. In japan, meat made in America is often regarded as having disease. There is danger that animals which we would eat have terrible disease. However, meat made by biofabrication is always hygienic as far as genes taken from animals don’t have disease.
There may be some problems in biofabrication. For example, leather and meat made by biofabrication is too expensive. And it isn’t clear whether meat made by biofabrication do harm to human body or not. However, it is certain that biofabrication will eliminate problems occurring by killing animals for leather and meat. So I think we should use biofabrication to make leather and meat.

Anti-xenophobia campaign has occurred in South Africa. On April 23, many students and staff of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, including many influential people from various fields, like political groups and religious institutions, marched at the university against xenophobia. The way of this campaign was very polite and great. The NMMU choir sang spiritual songs to raise emotion of the crowd, and some people joined the march silently in a show of solidarity. Since xenophobia violence has been a big threat to the peace and has disturbed democratization in South Africa, many professors support this campaign. It is certain that more and more people in South Africa respect diversity and human right unconditionally.
I think this campaign will help government suppress xenophobia violence. Xenophobia violence occurs mainly because of dissatisfaction at unemployment and gaps between the wealthy and poor. South Africa government has to stop xenophobia violence, because people just vent their dissatisfaction on foreigners. But even government still doesn’t take measures against this problem. So people in South Africa need to move government to suppress xenophobia violence. The anti-xenophobia march could show their solidarity against xenophobia to government. Therefore this campaign will move government against xenophobia.

　Today we discussed the problem between Japan and China about the territorial rights over the Senkaku islands. China angered at Japan, because Japan and Taiwan signed a deal, which made it OK for Taiwan to fish within 19km of the islands. China claims independence of Taiwan, because Taiwan doesn’t have offisial diplomatic relations with Japan. On the other hand, Japan insits that it made the deal to prtect maritime resources in the East China Sea, so the deal doesn’t have relation to the territorial dispute. I think it’s need to discuss the territorial rights over Senkaku islands with the countries around the Senkaku islands and to make a rule.
