FACE (Foundation for Audiovisual Commerce & Engineering) has created a technology of 3D projection mapping with Digital Projection projectors and a d3 Technology media server. The commissioner of this installation, Aromazz NV, had its debut at the Day of Entrepreneurs that were hosted by Unizo Limburg.
The projection mapping with FACE and two Digital Projection Titan Quad 20000 ANSI lumen projectors lighted up the face of building in the city through the glass wall of event venue Hangar 58. The contents of the event were made by d3 Technologies 4×2Pro media server.
Making 3D projection mapping have some processes.
First, taking a 3D scan of the facades which were converted in millions of individual points. Then these points are converted into a wide UV (UV means 2D) mapping by the d3 software generator. What the d3 software generator made become an image that fits the facades and corner of building shape exactly.
DVI extenders can convert the video output to fibre and be used for the communication between the servers and projectors. Besides a tablet can control the entire setup .
It is not necessary for us to be expert if you want control the software of 3D projection mapping. This software allow event organizers to customize contents of projection show.

This article explained about the technology of ３D projection mapping. It is difficult for me to have an opinion about that, so I’ll write my thought about 3D projection mapping.
Disney land is famous for starting 3D projection mapping show. The reaoson why Disney land started though making 3D projection mapping cost too much is that 3D projection mapping show don’t need any dancers and any characters like Micky Mouse, so Disney can cut a lot of cost to hire them. It means that Disney can earn much money in long-term.
