We talked about canceled flights because of chile volcano’s eruption in last class. The summary and my opinion is as follow.
1. Summary
Airlines canceled flights in Argentina because Chilean volcano Calbuco had erupted on Wednesday. It is still puffing out ash and smoke. According to the radio, the weight of gray ash damaged some buildings. The atomospheric particles are too dangerous to airplanes. Deita Air Lines, Air France and American Airlines suspended flights at Ezeiza, near capital city Buenos Aires. In the Bariloche, flights were canceled for secound day. In Chile, it remused domestic flights to the south. Most of the mines in top copper exporter Chile are far from the volcano. But salmon farms are in the south. So they hit the shares of local producers because of contamination on Friday.
2. My opinion
I was surprised that volcanic ashes threatened the life of people. I know that Japan also has a lot of volcanoes. In this article, national geology service director Rodrigo Alvarez said that” It’ not a major situation, but we can’t rule out a new eruption in the coming hours”. Can people responde measure quickly if a volcano erupts in Japan? I worry about it. Such a situation can happen anytime in Japan. I think that jugments of Delta Air Lines, Air France and American Airlines were right. Because security is the most important. I am anxious about whether an imported salmon from Chile is safe. I think Japan must prepare to the volcano’s erupting well.
