UN:300,000 Lose Access to Aid in South Sudan

【Summary】

The United Nation stopped giving aid to South Sudan because of its intensification of the civil war. The conflict of president Salva Kiir and vice president Riek Macher is the cause of this war. It is hard situation for South Sudan that couldn’t get any aid like food and medicine. The war has displaced a lot of South Sudanese and Peace talks in Addis Ababa have made little progress. They hope to get aid again from U.N. as soon as possible.

【Opinion】

When I read this article, I felt sad because the conflict of president and vice president caused this war. Both of them are in the position to lead South Sudan and should cooperate each other to make their country comfortable. Though they didn’t play their part and escalated into the war. They should have been reconciled with each other not using the force of arms. If the war is protracted in this situation, couldn’t get any aid from U.N., the country will become impoverished. I think the president should promote agriculture and fishery. Then, South Sudanese could provide for foods by their own foodstuff without the support from U.N.. But now,I hope to end the war and come to get the aid from U.N. again as soon as possible.
